What are the benefits of coconut soy wax?
At In The Air, we use 100% coconut soy wax in every candle we pour and 100% coconut soy sunflower wax in all of our wax melts. We chose these waxes for their smooth, slow-burning qualities and the beautiful scent experience they create.
Compared to paraffin-based waxes, coconut soy is known for producing less soot when burned properly and for providing a longer, more even burn. That means more time to enjoy your favorite scent and less time worrying about your candle.
How are the candles and wax melts scented?
We use phthalate-free fragrance oils blended with natural essential oils to create each of our signature scents. We carefully select our fragrance oils with both scent and quality in mind, so you can enjoy beautiful aromas without phthalates.

Why wood wicks?
Wood wicks are a cozy alternative to traditional cotton wicks, with one extra little perk: they make a soft, soothing crackle as they burn. Think of it as a mini fireplace, all wrapped up in your favorite candle.
Where are your products made and manufactured?
Our materials are all sourced right here in the US, then gathered and hand poured in our small studio (okay—a dining room table!) in Columbus, OH. We carefully choose our manufacturing partners to ensure the products we offer are thoughtfully made, high quality, and a fair value.

Why won't my candle stay lit?
Wood wicks can be a little tricky at times, but proper trimming makes all the difference. Before every burn, trim your wick to about 1/8". Yes! Every time.
If you don't have a wick trimmer on hand, no worries. Once the candle is completely cool, use a tissue, napkin, or other gentle tool to remove the loose, charred bits from the top of the wick. This exposes fresh wood and gives your flame a better chance of staying lit.
Keeping your wick trimmed also helps minimize soot and keeps your candle burning cleanly.
A little wick maintenance goes a long way!
How long will my candle / wax melts last?
CANDLES
Our 4oz candles will burn for approximately 10-15 hours.
Our 12oz candles will burn for approximately 40-50 hours.
For the first burn, allow the melt pool to reach the outer edges of the container. This usually takes 3-5 hours, depending on the size of the candle. Giving your candle a full melt pool on its first burn helps prevent tunneling and encourages a more even burn throughout the life of your candle.
Because our 12oz candles are larger, they may need a couple of burns to establish a full edge-to-edge melt pool. Don't worry if the wax doesn't reach the edges on the very first burn, this can be completely normal. Just continue following the recommended burn times, and your candle should gradually develop an even melt pool.
After the first few burns, we recommend burning your candle for no more than 4 hours at a time.
WAX MELTS
Each 3.75oz bag will provide up to 96 hours of scenting, depending on how frequently and how long you melt each wax square.
Each square typically lasts between 8-12 hours. As you continue to melt the same wax, the fragrance will naturally become lighter. Add a fresh square when the scent has dissipated, and remove cooled, unscented wax as necessary.

Shipping costs are calculated based on your location and the items in your order. You'll always see your shipping cost before completing your purchase.
For products that are ready to ship, please allow 1-5 business days for processing before your order is on its way.
For made-to-order and presale products, please allow 1-2 weeks for processing.
Please keep in mind that processing time does not include shipping or transit time. Once your order ships, delivery time will depend on the shipping method and destination.
Most domestic orders arrive within 2-7 business days after shipping.

Why does my candle look different?
Natural waxes, especially soy wax, have a mind of their own sometimes! As the wax cools and re-solidifies, you may notice changes in its texture or appearance, including small craters, uneven surfaces, or a white crystalline effect called wax frosting.
These variations are completely natural, harmless, and purely cosmetic. They don't affect the quality, scent, or performance of your candle.
You may also notice that some candles have a slight tint. Fragrances containing notes like citrus, cinnamon, or vanilla can naturally cause the wax to discolor over time, resulting in shades of tan, yellow, or orange. This is also completely harmless and won't affect how your candle burns.
A little character adds to the charm.
What size candle should I use in my space?
Our 4oz candles are best suited for small to medium-sized spaces, such as bathrooms and bedrooms, or as a cozy accent on a nightstand or coffee table.
Our 12oz candles are ideal for larger, open spaces like living rooms, dining rooms, kitchens, and larger bedrooms, where a little more scent power can go a long way.
Of course, scent is personal! Feel free to choose your candle size based on how much fragrance you'd like to fill your space with.
Bigger candle + smaller space = high intensity
